The Product Journey
"A team spent nine months building a fitness tracking feature. Discovery was skipped because the idea came from the CEO. Development was flawless. Everything was on time, no bugs, pixel-perfect design. But at the launch, fewer than 2% of users ever opened it. Six weeks later it was quietly removed. Nine months. Gone."
What is Product Journey ?
The Product Journey maps the three frameworks every PM needs to navigate: The Product Development Cycle (how you build), The Product Lifecycle (where your product sits commercially), and Product-Market Fit (whether what you built is what the market actually needs). This module covers when each framework applies, what decisions it demands, and the mistakes that happen when teams confuse them.
Why does it matter?
Building the wrong thing
Without Discovery, teams optimise for execution quality rather than problem validity. You can build perfectly and still fail completely.
Skipping stages
Jumping from idea to development skips Definition. That means no clear scope, no acceptance criteria, and no way to know when you are done.
Missing market window
Not knowing your Product Lifecycle stage means investing in growth at maturity, or cutting too early at introduction.
After this module you will be able to navigate frameworks: The Product Development Cycle (how you build), The Product Lifecycle (where your product sits commercially), and Product-Market Fit (whether what you built is what the market actually needs) and know which decisions each one demands of you".
