CCBA Certification Eligibility

The Certificate of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) certification is designed for experienced business analysts who are looking to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. To be eligible for this certification, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Business Analysis Work Experience:

You must have a minimum of 3750 hours of business analysis work experience in the last seven years.

2. Knowledge Area Experience:

You must have a minimum of 900 hours in two of the six knowledge areas or 500 hours in four of the six knowledge areas.

The six knowledge areas are:

  • Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring
  • Elicitation and Collaboration
  • Requirements Life Cycle Management
  • Strategy Analysis
  • Requirements Analysis and Design Definition
  • Solution Evaluation

3. Professional Development:

You must have a minimum of 21 hours of professional development in the last four years.

CCBA Certification cost comprises three parts –membership fees, application fees and exam fees. The membership fees depend on your country of residence.

Total cost for CCBA certification for region I aspirant (United States of America) is:

  • Membership fees – USD 139, Application fees USD 145 and the exam fees is USD 250 resulting in a total fees of USD 534.

Total cost for CCBA certification for region III aspirant (India) is:

  • Membership fees – USD 55, Application fees USD 145 and the exam fees is USD 250 resulting in a total fees of USD 450.

Validity of CCBA Certification

  • The CCBA certification is valid for three years from the date it is awarded, after which it must be renewed(with a grace period of 1 year) through a recertification process.
  • Recertification Fee for IIBA members is $85 and for non-members is $120.
  • To maintain the validity of your CCBA certification, you must complete a recertification application and earn a minimum of 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) within the three-year period.

CCBA Syllabus

The CCBA Certification examination is based on the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) guide. The BABOK guide is structured into knowledge areas, Techniques, perspectives and competencies.

CCBA Exam Pattern

The CCBA exam is a computer-based test, and you have the option to take it either online through proctor format or in person at a PSI test center.

CCBA Certification exam is a multiple choice questions based exam. The questions are designed to test your ability to apply the BABOK v3 concepts and framework.
