You must have a minimum of 3750 hours of business analysis work experience in the last seven years.


2. Knowledge Area Experience:

You must have a minimum of 900 hours in two of the six knowledge areas or 500 hours in four of the six knowledge areas.

Validity of CCBA Certification


  • The CCBA certification is valid for three years from the date it is awarded, after which it must be renewed(with a grace period of 1 year) through a recertification process.
  • Recertification Fee for IIBA members is $85 and for non-members is $120.
  • To maintain the validity of your CCBA certification, you must complete a recertification application and earn a minimum of 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) within the three-year period.

The CCBA Certification examination is based on the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) guide. The BABOK guide is structured into knowledge areas, Techniques, perspectives and competencies.
