I underwent ECBA Certification from IIBA while on a maternity break for almost 4+ years with 4+years of experience from sales background. To be honest I was skeptical about getting in to IT industry initially but just went around with the training sessions with TechCanvas.
My overall training experience was superb. Thanks to Abhishek sir that even a non IT background person like me who was not even in touch of latest industry trends for few years now was able to understand the concept and revise with the recordings of same session. The LMS portal was easy to understand and the access for an year itself is the + point as far as going through the recordings are concern. Even after doing engineering in IT, I was never really good at programming but was able to understand the process flow, various interfaces and system flows. So I thought to apply for non-technical IT jobs and beginner courses and that’s how I landed on the Techcanvass portal. Since I knew I was good at understanding the logic behind any system flows and operations I was pretty sure that I could make it work. This way I could use the knowledge I acquired in my graduation and during the well-curated self-paced program of Techcanvass and accumulate in my professional career. If I be brutally honest I found it difficult to understand and memorize different practices and tasks which are followed in different knowledge bases mentioned in BABOK. In the corporate world, each company has its own processes and workflow to carry out things. Carrying the mindset that the BA profile is full-proof non-technical is not a way out. I was told to have a sound knowledge of booming technologies and their real-life practices too. Being totally non-technical is not a solution. I can’t deny the fact that in this fast-growing world being totally non-technical would help one to get ahead in life, so it's good to be tech-savvy. Once a person gets a good knowledge of elementary BA skills i.e. documentation, app/web feature listing, wire-framing or data modelling, one must move forward to other analytical and reporting tools too such as- Tableau/Power BI, basic SQL, and later on Python for EDA (exploratory data analysis). In short, along with being a functional BA in the initial years one must move forward or up-skill oneself with technical or analytical roles. Read Less
